If you aim to buy American and support local business, you might be thinking about finding a furniture manufacturer right in the United States. There is no shortage of talented craftsmen in America, and England Furniture has taken advantage of that by setting up shop right in Tennessee. Here are just some benefits of buying American-made furniture.

American Jobs

Helping out fellow Americans is as easy as buying American-made products. In fact, England Furniture recently announced an expansion to their factory in Tennessee where 200 new jobs are being created.

Environmentally Friendly

The amount of gas and diesel burned to ship furniture from overseas is staggering–and it will take more gasoline yet to get that furniture into your home. Less smog in the air is a win for everyone!

Fast Manufacturing

England Furniture has been known for their expedient manufacturing processes since the 1960’s. In three weeks or less, England Furniture gets orders out the door, so you can have your customized piece quick!

England Furniture Awards Sales Reps for their Outstanding Service

England Furniture held their Sales Representative Meeting during the recent 2014 October International Furniture Market in High Point. Several England Furniture representatives were recognized for their performance during the 2014 fiscal year at the event. Some of the many factors that contributed to receiving the England Furniture Sales Awards included measurable criteria such as sales volume, change from the previous reporting period and territory GP. Other factors could including positive work ethic, ability to resolve dealer issues, and other less-definable gauges.

“All our reps deserve some level of recognition,” said Otis Sawyer, President of England, “but, when benchmarks are applied, understandably, the ones with the most impressive stats gravitate to the top.”

England Furniture is fortunate to have an excellent group of women and men who are dedicated to being the professional connection between the England Furniture factory and England Furniture customers. In addition to the terrritory-centered sales awards, England Furniture also identifies the one individual in their sales force who most exemplifies the values held by England Furniture founder, Arnold Dwight England. Called the “Mr. D Award,” award, this prize is arguably the most coveted award presented each October.

On occasion a Trailblazer Award is also presented.  This award acknowledges the efforts of a sales representative who was able to grow in a territory despite challenging circumstances.  This year’s award went to our England Furniture Northern California representative and it recongized her determination in increasing the California market.

On September 18, 2014, England Furniture vendors, suppliers, employees, and sales reps will join with those who generally love golf and will gather at the Woodlake Golf Resort in Tazewell, TN, to take part in the England Furniture 25th Annual ADE Golf Scramble.

The monies generated by the golfing event will be placed in the ADE Foundation, an entity created to disperse funds to charities that seek the good of the local community. Previous recipients have included the American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, Walter State Community College scholarships, and The Alpha School. Funds from the England Furniture Annual ADE Golf Scrambles have helped those affected by weather related catastrophes, they assisted in buying school supplies for elementary school students, and the funds generated have helped with the distribution of Christmas baskets to local under-privileged persons. Funds are used to aid the local community and whether they are given to employees or non-employees.

On Thursday, September 18, teams will gather at the Woodlake for two rounds of golf. Lunch will be provided and prizes will be awarded at the end of round two. For half of England Furniture’s existence, this event has been held in late summer to provide a day of friendly competition with industry friends, while, at the same time, assuring that funds will be available to help individuals in our community.

Many thanks to the loyal patrons who supported the Arnold Dwight England Golf Scramble year after year! Fore!
